Today...

Today Burnham will be on a video shoot in California.   This will be a huge moment for our boys.  A day I am sure they will never forget!   I miss them so much but isn't being a mother filled with lots of sacrifice?  Nothing worthwhile is ever easy.  And the boys know that I am there with them even if I am  not physically.  For it is impossible for me not to be with them in mind, heart, and spirit.

The photo above is one of my favorites.  If  you look closely, you will never see the years of hard work that we all have put in to arrive to where Burnham is now.  No, none of this was planned you might say.  But then again, the boys said "yes" to their passion, to their love.  And one of  life's lessons is that hard work really does pay off.  No matter what you do, do your best, and do it well.

And now, this journey is really beginning.
Last year at this time, there was no record deal, not even a plan of "shopping" for one.  Oh, it was a vague formulation floating out there somewhere.  Last spring, there was  only plain old hard work, lots of hours of rehearsals, a desire to play to  massive audiences, and to create great music.

Fast forward to this spring, the hard work is even more demanding, the desire for making good music and performing to the masses has increased a hundred fold.  And the plan?  Only God knows it as it is evolving moment by moment.

You may think, "Wow, they have a major record deal!"  What need have they for prayers?  This family is living a dream!  Yes, those things are all true.  But, look again.  Our daily life, our way of living has changed drastically in 4 short months.  My husband has given up for the most part his business of designing and selling jewelry.  Our boys have been home for just a handful of days since they left for New York.  Gone are our constant days when five children pattering downstairs in the early morning hours to listen to read alouds was a daily routine.  Scarce will be the the hours left over  for those abundant times when daydreaming was common place in our household.  We are all adjusting to a new way of living.  A way of living that can be just as fruitful and as joyful as the years gone by. It will just be different!   AND there is so much joy here!  The moments together with our family on this journey are priceless.  We ARE living the dream and we welcome it.  We say, "yes" to the call.   But to whom much is given, much is required.
