Sometimes things are planned and sometimes things just happen. Last night Lily drew this with charcoal while hanging out by the fire place. She just loves to draw mostly girls which we call "The Ladies".
Gunther is learning about animal tracks along with the girls...This was unplanned. The Thorton Burgess books (from the early 1900's) were a springboard for science this week. I love this series. Andre read all of them at Lily's age and now we are reading them aloud to Lily and Molly. Forrest keeps peeking his head in the school room to give a listen (He has read a lot of these books too!) We finished Reddy Fox and have started Buster Bear.
A few weeks ago Forrest and Lily made crepes with their French teacher at our friends' house. (Thank you Drew and Julia!) The kids take French twice a week...one class at Drew's and Julia's and one class at the Library. Our kids are really enjoying this class. Francois is an excellent teacher. Thumbs up on this choice for the school year! French and France have been a love of mine since I was a teenager. It has been really fun revisiting this...
