Sunday marked the beginning of Advent and the start of the Church's new year. On Sunday evening we gathered to light our Advent Wreath and to read our scripture going along with our Jesse Tree ornament. Sirach is the book of choice for the family to read aloud together during this advent. It is a book about wisdom, about virtue, and of moral instruction also reflecting on the goodness of God; A perfect book to reflect on during the Advent season. May you all have a blessed Advent!
"Wisdom instructs her children and admonishes those who seek her. He who loves her loves life; those who seek her out win her favor. He who holds her fast inherits glory; wherever he dwells, the Lord bestows blessings. Those who serve her serve the Holy One; those who love her the Lord loves." Sirach 4:11-14
