Haven't felt like blogging much lately. But for dear friends and family members I would like to give you an update on our German Shepherd, Gunther. He is scheduled for hip surgery on Wednesday up in Burlington. We had hoped to get him in yesterday but the Surgeon is booked with hip replacement surgery. It is very hard for us to wait...we just love our awesome, sweet dog. Our vet has been wonderful and has gone the extra mile to make Gunther comfortable until Wednesday. He is taking lots of pain medication, eating well (boiled rice with boiled hamburger or chicken), and getting lots of attention and rest. The support of family and friends during this time has been awesome. This has all been really hard on our family especially the waiting.
The surgeon that will operate on Gunther specializes in large breeds, police dogs, etc. This is very promising for Gunther and after he heals up he should be able to run, play, and do all of the activities that he has always enjoyed doing like being the jogging partner and playmate to all of our children.
