We are officially back! Got away from blogging the last two days in NYC but It was more of the same... A LOT of fun. The boys spent more hours in the studio and we all took a tour of the Empire State Building. Forrest has been wanting to go to the Empire State Building forever and he was just precious when we finally did!

What else did we do in NYC? EAT! We ate Mexican, Chinese, and Italian! Mmmm.......

The trip was fun, peaceful, and such a joy! I am so thankful to family and friends that make these trips possible. Thank you, Grandma Phyllis and Aunt Joyce, for taking such good care of our girls! Thank you, Drew and Julia, for taking the girls on Thursday. They had so much fun. The girls agreed that they were spoiled by everybody:) Thank you, Mom and Dad, for all of your support too... your wisdom and help( always sending money) are greatly appreciated!!!

Quote from Molly: "I am just so spoiled now!" (And then a giggle while eating chocolate.)

We came home to lots of Valentines and a gift from Drew, "The Rosary in Latin with Pope John Paul II" on CD. What a treasure!
Praying along with this CD mornings will be a great delight.

While in NYC I read excerpts from The Imitation of Christ by Kempis. I opened to Book 3 chapter 21 and it was a great consolation to me:

The Imitation of Christ
Thomas à Kempis

The Twenty-first Chapter

ABOVE ALL GOODS AND ALL GIFTS WE MUST REST IN GOD

THE DISCIPLE

ABOVE all things and in all things, O my soul, rest always in God, for He is the everlasting rest of the saints.
Grant, most sweet and loving Jesus, that I may seek my repose in You above every creature; above all health and beauty; above every honor and glory; every power and dignity; above all knowledge and cleverness, all riches and arts, all joy and gladness; above all fame and praise, all sweetness and consolation; above every hope and promise, every merit and desire; above all the gifts and favors that You can give or pour down upon me; above all the joy and exultation that the mind can receive and feel; and finally, above the angels and archangels and all the heavenly host; above all things visible and invisible; and may I seek my repose in You above everything that is not You, my God.

For You, O Lord my God, are above all things the best. You alone are most high, You alone most powerful. You alone are most sufficient and most satisfying, You alone most sweet and consoling. You alone are most beautiful and loving, You alone most noble and glorious above all things. In You is every perfection that has been or ever will be. Therefore, whatever You give me besides Yourself, whatever You reveal to me concerning Yourself, and whatever You promise, is too small and insufficient when I do not see and fully enjoy You alone. For my heart cannot rest or be fully content until, rising above all gifts and every created thing, it rests in You.

Blessings,
Marianne

I love Thomas a Kempis's Imitation of Christ - I try to read a little of it every day - it is so encouraging...
and this is one of my favorite chapters - I just love the ending line:
"For my heart cannot rest or be fully content until, rising above all gifts and very created thing, it rests in You."
Peace be with you,
~Jenny
PS :) I found your blog from Nissa's... :)
